Color Factory Secret Neighborhood Map

I may have not been able to snag Color Factory tickets but I did get ahold of the secret neighborhood map. Color Factory pulled together a collection of murals, foodie hotspots and hole in the wall shops to wander in and out of. It was easily one of the best ways I’ve gotten to experience San Francisco especially the hidden alley’s throughout China Town.

Boba Guys(429 Stockton Street)

We started at Boba! You can’t search for color without a caffeine fix. Thankfully Boba was on the list and there’s even a special pink drink for color factory scavenger hunt goer’s. I cheated and got a caramel coffee tea but the strawberry tea’s look to die for.

IMG_9073The food option was to head over to Jane. For convenience purposes we went to La Taza instead. However, I can’t get enough of these cups so a trek to Jane is now on the list.

Cheers to a good start of a new week. Photo by @coffeewithbritney

Paint the Town(Corner of Sutter St. and Claude Lane)

The mural below was up next. Caffeinated and fed we wandered over to Sutter & Claude. This burst of yellow was shining at the end of a very dark alleyway just waiting to be Instagrammed. Naturally.

Tastes of Chinatown(Grant Ave. & Vinton Ct.)

We wandered over to our next destination through the hustle and bustle of Chinatown. This gem was empty when we arrived. As soon as we started goofing around and taking pictures on the steps… This massive group of people had amassed waiting to take our spot! I swear there are lines everywhere around here.

We wandered over to Method (637 Commercial Street) and then to Mister Jiu’s (28 Waverly Place). Method was supposed to have bubbles. We found the orange button underneath the red flag. We pressed it. But no bubbles. Mister Jiu’s was closed so we also didn’t get to experience the multicolored button dance party!

We did, however, luck out with fortune cookies! The Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory (56 Ross Alley) was not to be missed. This place smelled glorious and you got to watch the cookies being made on the spot! It was nestled down an alley in the heart of Chinatown and had we not known where to go… There’s no way we ever would have found it!

We did miss 3 spots on the tour. Little Giant Ice Cream (214 Sutter Street), Hotel Rex (562 Sutter Street), and Moth and Dagger Tattoo Studio (610 Bush Street).

If I could add my own addition to the list… It would be this mural below! It’s a street art piece by Edward Granger located at the corner of Jackson Street and Sansome Street in FiDi.
